I am Faiza Jan Iftikhar, an Associate Professor (Chemistry) in NUSASH, NUTECH since 2018. I earned my Ph.D. in Natural Sciences (Electrochemistry) with distinction under the supervision of distinguished Prof. Guenter Grampp from the Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, Graz University of Technology, Austria with a foreign scholarship from the HEC, Pakistan. I was also the recipient of Postdoc fellowship from the University of Western Cape, South Africa from 2010–2012. I was a Post Doc fellow in the Department of Chemistry, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) from 2016-2018. My focus of research has been bio/chemical sensors for environmental contaminants, and I am enthusiastic about the futuristic implication of the field in medicine and environment. Currently I am involved in developing high performance electrodes for sodium/Lithium-ion batteries. I am actively collaborating with my Professor at the University of Western Cape, South Africa on different projects.

- Applied Chemistry: An introductory course that focus on understanding the basics of Chemistry and its applications to industries with special emphasis on contemporary issues related to climate change.
- Functional English: The course focuses on developing spoken as well as written English skills so that students are well equipped to pursue their career as successful professionals in any competitive working environment.
- Environmental Chemistry (BS): Focuses on understanding chemical processes that govern environmental systems which prepares students for careers in environmental monitoring, management, and sustainable development.
- Contemporary Issues in Environment (MS): The course focused on analysis of current environmental challenges such a climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental pollution that helped to equip students with knowledge to provide sustainable solutions to issues at hand.
- Cleaner Production Technology (MS): The course supports the shift toward eco-friendly industrial practices to reduce environmental impact and promotes sustainability by teaching efficient resource use and waste minimization techniques.
- Research Methodology (MS): The course focused on fundamentals for conducting scientific and evidence-based studies that helps to develop critical thinking, ethics and best research practices.
- Atmospheric Chemistry (PhD): The course was central to addressing global issues like air quality, climate change, and ozone layer depletion.
My research focuses on the electrochemistry of interfaces, sensor development for environmental toxins, and pathogens. I have been working on Li and Na ion Batteries in collaboration with NUST suggesting sustainable solutions and have written projects and successfully published my work. My total citations are 2091 with an H-index of 24 and i-10 index of 47. I have published my work in reputable journals such as RSC advances, Sustainable Energy & Fuels, Journal of Energy Storage, Scientific Reports, Electrochimica Acta, Journal of Power Sources, Journal of Materials Chemistry C, ACS Applied Energy Materials, npj Clean Water etc. I have received research funding from National Research Program for Universities (NRPU), HEC, Pakistan for developing a sensor to detect pathogens in water.
